Konrad Matysiak MD, PhD

Gastroenterology | General Surgery | Clinical Nutrition

I am a physician with extensive clinical experience in gastroenterology, general surgery, and the management of intestinal failure. Since 2014, I have led the Centre for Intestinal Failure at the Poznań University of Medical Sciences and the Department of Gastroenterology at the University Hospital.

My scientific work focuses on parenteral nutrition, inflammatory and immune biomarkers, short bowel syndrome, and chronic intestinal failure. I am the author and co-author of numerous publications in the fields of clinical nutrition, intestinal failure, and supportive oncology care.

I hold board certifications in general surgery and gastroenterology, along with certified endoscopic skills and advanced competencies in clinical nutrition. I am particularly interested in applying modern analytical tools and emerging technologies, including artificial intelligence, to enhance clinical practice and healthcare organisation.

My aim is to integrate clinical practice with ongoing scientific research to advance effective and safe therapeutic strategies for patients with severe gastroenterological disorders.
